Broadcast Spot Dubs

Broadcast dubs are copies that are generally made for viewing over the television airways or for editing purposes. The formats frequently used for these dubs are BetacamSP, Digital Betacam, 3/4 inch, or 1 inch. These dubs require special attention, as a high degree of precision and technical engineering are required to produce the best results.

Imagine these nightmares:
  • Scenario number one: you've already paid for air time and the television station calls and says the BetaSP copy you sent them is blank, or has the wrong program on it, or has severe drop outs, or has no audio, etc.
  • Scenario number two: you have an editing session scheduled and cannot re-schedule until a week later. The copies are no good and you now cannot meet your deadlines.
This is why we use nothing but the best equipment and tape when making your broadcast dubs. In addition, our engineers have set up rigorous standards and settings to which our operators adhere. All BetaSP dubs are done in component format for instance. Of course, we check every dub for quality, but we do some additional things to further ensure top quality. We don't check your dubs in the same decks that they were recorded in. We put them in different decks; this prevents interchangeability problems. We also do not allow the operator who recorded the program to check the program. We use a fresh set of eyes and ears, so as to not miss the little things. To some, this seems excessive, but to us, it's a better way to ensure quality.
